ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) is based on the science of learning and behavior. ABA is used to increase language and communication skills, while building skill acquisition and teaching replacement behaviors.

 Your first step in beginning services with KBC is to talk with your medical provider about your concerns. If your provider agrees that our services may be beneficial, they will send a referral to our office to get the process started.

Yes! We are excited to offer a new initiative where our behavioral technicians can accompany your child to school, providing individualized support right in the classroom.

Our school-based ABA treatment is designed to address the core symptoms of your child’s diagnosis and promote success in both academic and social settings. This includes:

• Reducing challenging behaviors that may disrupt learning
   
• Strengthening coping and adaptive skills during less structured times of the school day
   
• Building social, play, and peer interaction skills
   

By collaborating with teachers and school staff, we ensure consistent support that helps your child fully participate, learn, and grow alongside their peers.

 While still relatively little-known by most people, ABA is a proven, effective method of therapy, shown to have extremely positive results specifically among populations with Autism. 

• The American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, the oldest and largest interdisciplinary organization of professionals concerned with intellectual disability and related disabilities, designated ABA-based procedures for the treatment of behavioral problems with individuals with intellectual disability and related disorders as "highly recommended" (Rush & Frances, 2000).

• Autism Speaks states that “ABA is widely recognized as a safe and effective treatment for autism”; and “Behavior analysis is a scientifically validated approach to understanding behavior and how it is affected by the environment.”

• American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry concluded: “ABA techniques have been repeatedly shown to have efficacy for specific problem behaviors, and ABA has been found to be effective as applied to academic tasks, adaptive living skills, communication, social skills, and vocational skills” (Volkmar et al., 2014).
